With Christmas right around the corner I thought it would be a good time for a blog post on my favorite quick and inexpensive embroidery gift ideas! I’m going to make this a series so I can make each project again and take pics during construction process. They will be posted in no specific order, just some of my favorite designs with links to where I purchased them if applicable.
In the hoop Christmas ornaments are fun and easy to make. Last year I gave these to my Sunday School class tied to jars filled with candy. I bought the design from appliquemarket.com and the file includes 3, 4, and 5 inch options. The step by step pdf instructions are very easy to follow with the added bonus of colored pictures. I used a font built into my machine to add the monogram (font not included with design) and I love them because they can easily go from candy jar to tree ornament or be used as a gift tag. The ornament is made completely in the hoop with one hooping. The design comes with the following formats: DST, PES, EXP, HUS, JEF, VIP, XXX, and ART. These stitched out very quickly, I made about 2 dozen in one evening!
I enjoyed making these so much that I plan on giving candy jars with ornaments to all of my neighbors for Christmas this year!
